Savannah #1

We had a fabulous trip full of sight-seeing, adult conversation, relaxing, and, of course, eating!  Our pictures will be in chronological order and about every other one is food related.  Go figure!

Peach pecan french toast - a great way to start off a vacay!  We stayed at The Mansion on Forsyth Park thru a Luxury Link package.  Super nice, hip, and the food was excellent.

Spanish moss (which, by the way, is neither Spanish nor moss) covers the trees.

We started off our sight-seeing adventure on a tour trolley (the wrong one, but it all worked out!).  We brought the average age down about 30 years.  Lots of neat architecture and history in Savannah, but let's be honest, I'm just here for the food!

Confederate jasmine - the smell was incredible.

One of Savannah's claims to fame is the presence of 22 squares within the historic district.  We had such a great time walking to each one and then spending some time on the benches enjoying the beautiful weather and great company!

B doing his Forrest Gump.  The bench they actually used is in the visitor's center or something, but we just pretended.

Savannah Honey Bee Company - tasty!

B's new friend.  Better than chiggars which apparently live in the Spanish Moss.

Our lunch spot per Courtney's mama's recommendation!

My favorite food item of the trip was the BLT Salad (basically a composed salad with fried green tomatoes, bacon, lettuce, and delicious homemade ranch dressing.  It has even appeared on Food Network's "Best thing I ever ate" show.

Some more pics inside the Pink House.

A picture of one of the square signage and our "feet" - well at least B's feet.

Xoxo,
Gara
