I'm 9 Weeks Old!

Here I am at 9 weeks old!  Check out my bandaids.  :(  I just got back from the doctor - I'm going to start hating that place.  Mom said something about taking me for ice cream after visits when I get older.  Sounds like she is into bribery - works for me!

I weigh 13 lbs 7 oz (90th percentile) and am 23.5 inches long (75th percentile).  My head measurement was so big that the doctor had to double-check the nurse.  Just seems like I'm going to have a big noggin.  Mom lets me nap on my tummy sometimes since I'm such a big boy now.

I wear 1-2 diapers and have started wearing 3-6 month clothes.  Mom keeps having to retire more clothes because they get too snug.  Here I am in my first Gap 3-6 month outfit.  She changes me 3 to 4 times a day, but mostly because I pee, poop, or spit up on myself.  Oh well.  Spit happens.

I don't spend all my time sleeping anymore.  I like to play with my Whoozit, Freddy the Firefly, and this handsome boy that I've found to be my friend.

I like hanging out with my mom during the day, but I really like it when dad gets home.  My favorite pasttime is making faces with my daddy.  I'm trying hard to mimic his every move.  I smile at him and stick out my tongue at him.  I'm not sure who has more fun though - me or him.

I'm making my first road trip this weekend to my Great Uncle Mickey's in Texas City.  I'm excited about hanging with him and about meeting Elizabeth on Sunday.  Mom says I may marry her one day so I have to be extra nice.

Happy 2 Month Birthday!

For his birthday, Travis was treated to breakfast in bed and a visit from his Pepper!

Here's his 2 Month Picture(s):

Click here for his 1 Month Picture.

Travis,

I love you so much and I am so proud to be your Daddy. Your Mommy and I have been praying for you for years before you were even born, and these past two months have shown us more than ever that God answers prayers. You are a special gift.

Watching you grow and change a little more every day is very exciting. You are now very alert and, at times (like bedtime), very strong willed. It is amazing to see little flashes of the boy and man you will become in the future. It is also unbelievable how handsome you are! Your Mommy and I are okay looking folks I guess, but you turned out to be beautiful.

As a new Daddy, everything I see or hear reminds me of you. One song that Mommy and I sometimes hear always makes me smile (and sometimes cry) because it makes me think of you. And it isn’t even a song about a child! But every where I go, you are with me. Everything I hear, see or touch reminds me of you somehow. The relevant parts of Wade Bowen’s “Who I Am” that we love to sing along to are as follows:

“I love you oh so very much, I love you more than words can say,
And I don’t know how or why, but I love you more every day.
I love to watch you laugh and smile, I love to watch you dream,
I love it when you take my hand just to let me know you believe in me.
***
Now that you’re in my life, baby, I know exactly who I am.”

Son, you truly are a blessing to me in so many ways. I can’t imagine my life without you.

Love,
Daddy

The Week in Pictures...

I spent some time last weekend kicking it in my Lovey's lap.

I modeled my outfit from the Campagnas.  I was super cute if I do say so myself.

I visited mom's office.  We love potluck lunches.

I snuggled with my daddy!

I perfected cuteness.

I hung out with my Grandpa.

I made my first trip to Costco.  In the past two weeks, I've been to Kincaids, Del Frisco's,  and Costco.  I'm such a big boy!

51 Days!

I know that it won't be long before we start counting the time that Travis has been with us in months, years, and decades, but for now I'm enjoying counting it in days and weeks.  Here are some pics from the last week:

I had the blessing of hosting a baby shower for a dear friend, Emily, and her upcoming bundle of joy, Wyatt, last Saturday so Brandon and Travis got to spend about 4 hours together sans mom.  T took two bottles and was so good for his dad.  Pepper was here to help so that didn't hurt anything either! :)

T pooped in the bath for the first time this week.  We were way more phased than he was.  I'm sure it was funny to watch Brandon and I scoop him out of the tub and hose him off.  I'm guessing this won't be the last time.

I'm not sure Angel loves him just yet, but I don't think she hates him either.  Yet.

He may not always be happy, but he is always cute.

Rockin' the baby legs stuffed in the corner of the couch.

Happy baby boy!

Sucking face with my first furry friend.  :)

My Favorite Things ... So Far

Since we have so many friends that are about to become parents, I thought I'd throw out my little list of things that I couldn't have lived without these first 6-7 weeks.

1.  Sprout Shell - it keeps people from trying to want to touch him, and I feel like it helps keep germs away.  Super cute and easy to put on.

2.  Itzbeen - lets us know how long it has been since he ate, had a dirty diaper, etc.  Very good for forgetful mommies.

3.  Miracle Blanket - easiest and only swaddling blanket that he couldn't break out of.  Very useful the first few weeks especially.

4.  Dr. Smith's Diaper Ointment - excellent bum cream.  You can get it at some Walgreens, but we just order it in bulk on Amazon.

5.  Kimono Style T-Shirts - so easy to get off and on.  Great for those days where you've got no one to impress.  :)  This link will give you an idea, but we had a pack of Gerber ones and a pack of Carters ones that were perfect.

6.  Breast Soothers - these have been lifesavers to combat engorgement.

7.  Happiest Baby on the Block - I'd recommend the DVD.  We live by the "shhhh."

NEW ADDITION:

8.  Sheet Savers - they help the laundry load tremendously.  Thanks Kimberly!

I'm sure there are tons others.  I'll try to do this from time to time as we find new lifesavers.  Also, if you've got other recommendations for my mommy-to-be friends, please post in the comments.

I'm 6 Weeks Old!

Here I am at 6 weeks old.  My folks seem to think I am the coolest thing since sliced bread.  I kinda have to agree.  Plus they keep throwing around this "precious" word - I'll have to look that up one day.  Time is really flying for me, and I am learning and changing so much every day.  Just ask my grandpeeps.  It is sometimes a week or two between visits so I continually amaze them with my transformations.

I bet I am 11 1/2 lbs. by now.  Mommy and Daddy took out my newborn insert in my carseat because I surpassed the weight limit.  I'm glad - it made my back sweat.
I have chugged down two bottles for Daddy.  I don't seem to mind them too much, but I definitely prefer my Mommy - no offense, Dad.

I can smile, but I purposefully only do it when nobody has a camera. I really like to keep 'em guessing.

I'm wearing size 1-2 diapers and 3 month clothes.  If I keep up my growth pace, I'll be in 6 month clothes before too long.  Mom has been changing me more frequently - something about trying to get in all my cute outfits.
I don't like being wet and begin crying immediately after peeing.  I hate being swaddled even more.  Mom and Dad thought they'd be sneaky and swaddle me after I was already sleepy the other night.  You should have heard me when I woke up and realized they had me confined.  I don't think they'll try that again.  Suckers.
I made my first friend.  Meet Freddie the Firefly.  He's fun.

Here are pics of my parents when they were 6 weeks old.  I think I am the perfect blend of both of them!

Shout out to my lady friends - Elizabeth, Addison, Tatum, & Charlotte.  :)

Peace,
T-rav

Birth Announcement

This is our announcement that we sent out last week.  I am so proud of them.  I took the pics, designed them in photoshop, and had them printed out.  We were so happy to announce his arrival to our friends and family.
I'm thinking he may be the new star on some fridges! :)
