I'm 10 Months Old!

I've been busy this past month learning all sorts of party tricks!  Lovey taught me to wink, and I'm doing much better with my waving and clapping.  Mom and Dad are trying to teach me touchdown, but so far, I just like watching them act sooo silly!  I love playing peek-a-boo or ("Where's Travis?") with my little lamb that my Aunt Elva gave me.  I am so good at putting it over my head and then re-appearing with the biggest grin just so my peeps can yell "THERE HE IS!!" - I do this so fast smetimes that they can't even get out all the words before I'm already hiding again!

I've added white potatoes and hamburger meat to my diet.  I'm pretty independent and pretty much feed myself.  I have lots of finger foods and even hold my own bottle.  I learned I am allergic to Penicillin and have survived "THE RASH' of 2010!  I'm pulling up on anything and everything and can take a step or two as I scoot around on the ottoman or my play table.  I like to open doors and drawers that I can reach, and enjoy playing in mama's bowls and tupperware.  I also really like to pull up on the dishwasher when it is being unloaded!

I don't really like to have my diaper changed, and I am good as gone if you aren't super fast at getting the new one on!  Sometimes I'm six or eight feet away before mom can get the new one fastened.  I'm pretty sure dad put one on me backwards the other day because I was soo uncooperative!

I just got back from an amazing family vacay to Galveston where I had my first trip to the aquarium, first ride in a hammock, first trip to the beach, and my first sno-cone.  Mom is working on a separate post of those adventures, but here are a few pictures to tide you over!

I'm spending this week at Vacation Bible School.  I am looking forward to spending some time with my friends over the weekend and swimming lessons that start next week!

Would rather be on vacay,
Senor Travis

Happy 10 Month Birthday!

Outtakes...

What a face?!?!

Dear Travis,

You are a special little boy that brings joy to so many. Each time I hold & cuddle you it warms my heart thru. As I look into your eyes and you begin to smile ever so sweetly, it is like watching a rainbow spread across the sky! You are loved by many family members but your Great Aunt wants you to know that you are especially loved by her. You are the picture of innocence and the ray of sunshine that sits on my desk each day. May God Bless you and watch over you for your entire life. I know that you have such a bright future ahead! Hugs & Kisses!

I Love You,
Aunt Terry

Dear Travis,
We have never known a baby to be as happy and content as you always seem to be. Your smile lights up a room. Your sweet spirit makes everybody around you smile. You have a way of drawing people in and engaging them in all that you do.

The love that was felt for you before you were born has grown into the type of love that bonds a family together. Your birth was a unifying force that has strengthened your family. Sharing in your life over the past 10 months has brought all of us so much joy.

All babies are cute in their own right, but Travis, you are about the cutest baby ever! You were perfect when you were born, and you get cuter every time we see you. Beyond being incredibly good looking, you have a sense of peace about you, a confident nature, something that seems to say “hey, I’m only 10 months old, but I got a lot going for me!”

We are so lucky to be a part of your life. Watching you grow up and seeing where your life will take you is something that we very much look forward to. You are a blessing to all who know you and all that will get the opportunity to know you.

We love you Travis,
Uncle Billy & Aunt Shawna

Dear Travis,

Travis whenever we see you we just want to bundle you up and take you home!

We want you to know how much you mean to us. No matter what has just happened, when you stroll in you make it so much better for everybody!

Because of your adoring looks everybody wants to hold you all the time, though we know we can't.

Love, Cousins Makenna and Nikki

Happy Anniversary!

Seven years ago today I married my match, my soul mate, and my best friend.

Just some of our many memories ...

Just as the card that you gave me with my new bible on our wedding day read:

We can get through anything in life as long as we've got each other ... and some snacks!

I love you!

Happy Daddy's Day!

Anyone can be a father - But it takes someone special to be a daddy!
Travis sent Brandon this list in his card last year.

Mom is gonna be great and all, but there are some things I'm counting on you to teach me...

  1. How to throw a spiral and the ins and outs of the Nickel "D".

  2. How to pee standing up.

  3. How to drive a tractor (but I bet Mom can help here too).

  4. Who God is.

  5. The words to the Aggie War Hymn and FFA Creed.

  6. How to build fence.

  7. How to treat a woman so I can find a good one like Mom one day.

  8. All the good cuss words.

  9. Why I should be a republican.

  10. How to pray.
Daddies have some pretty awesome responsibilities, and I'm so looking forward to seeing Travis grow up with Brandon as his dad.  What a lucky little boy!  We love you!!

Happy Father's Day to Brandon, Grandpa, Pop, Papaw, Granddaddy, Sam, and all of the other daddies out there!

Xoxo,
Gara

What T's Been UP To ...

Crawling into all sorts of random spaces including under his walker, exersaucer, and between the wall and his farm (which is like 6 inches of space)

Pulling up (his first time to pull up was 6/14 onto the ottomon)

Look MOM, one hand!!

This morning, his daddy introduced him to the toy box.  Oh my - the boy was in heaven!

He was totally unfazed by his tumble into the toy box.  And, yes, this was the second time he did it.  And, no, he didn't cry either time.

Zoo Time

Austin and I (and our mommies) went to the Zoo on Monday!  What a fun time!  Austin is big enough to care about the animals and thought everything was a dog.  I just enjoyed people-watching. Our mommies liked the bat, bug, and rattlesnake exhibit best because it wasn't crowded and was air-conditioned.  Can you believe that Austin's mommy is afraid of lizards?  Silly, huh?  :)

Thanks Pepper for my zoo membership - I LOVE IT!!

Hope I get to go again real soon,
T-monkey
