These Make My Heart Smile!

Brandon and I took turns taking pics of each other at the Dallas Arboretum before our real shoot with Betsy.  These are just a mom, a dad, and their son loving the day, the sun, the green grass (Travis's first grass experience), and each other more than words or pictures could ever show.

This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

I'm Seven Months Old!

Well, I'm actually 7 months and 4 days old!  I can't believe how big I am getting.  In the past week, I have mastered sitting up all by myself.  I've been practicing for a month or so, but I am finally getting the hang of it.  That is, until I reach for something or the kitty cat walks by.

I'm wearing 9 and 12 month clothes and weigh close to 20 lbs.  You should see how buff my mom's arms are getting!!  I wear a size 3 diaper during the day and a size 4 nighttime diaper at night.  I haven't had any wet through accidents since I've been sleeping thru the night!  Yippee!  I usually sleep from 7pm to 6:30 or 7am, and I'm taking 2 or 3 naps a day for about 45 minutes to an hour each!  I'm trying to be a good little sleeper for my mom since she was up with me 3 times a night for 6 months straight!  I've really increased my drooling in the past week so I may be working on some teeth soon.  So far, I haven't really missed them, but they say I will need them before I can have tacos and cookies so I'd like to have some soon!  On Sunday, I got my first taste of "whirled peas."  They weren't that bad.  I think I liked them more than daddy.  So far, I eat sweet potatoes, acorn squash, avocados, bananas, and peas.  I get to try pears this weekend.

My hair is dirty blonde/light brown and my eyes are steely blue.  They are definitely darkening up, and Mom sees some brown specks in them so who knows if they are going to stay blue or not.  Daddy's dang brown eyes (Papaw has blue eyes).

We had a fun photo shoot at the Dallas Arboretum with Betsy on Sunday.  I'm going to invite my playgroup friends.  They have the most amazing grass there!  Those pics will be another post!

Oh, did I mention that I officially now poop like a man.  :)

Spring Break, Part 3

Travis went swimming for the first time last Sunday.  Lovey and Pop have an indoor swimming pool so it was nice and warm!  He has always loved the bath so it was no surprise that he loved it!!  I promise he was loving it, even though he looks a bit apprehensive in the pics!

Travis even helped Pop put up a new screen door.

The Campagnas came to play, too!

What a GREAT SPRING BREAK!!!

Happy 7 Month Birthday!

Mmm, sure hope that was a non-toxic marker.  :)

Dear Travis,

Well your very "computer iliterate Grana" has finally figured out how to write to you via e-mail. That, of course, does not mean that one day has gone by that I have not thought about you and what I have missed in all these months. I see your beautiful face on my computer everytime I turn it on (finally figured out how to do that).

What a blessing you are to me and and just what I thought you would be, handsome, smart, sweet and happy.  (oh, and a republican).

When I look at your face I see wisdom, that assures me you will be intelligent and well-read and a seeker of knowledge.

I see your smile and I know you will have a sense of humor and will laugh a lot and look for things that make you smile.

I see kindness, compassion and an appreciation for all living things that you will encounter in your earthly walk.

I see love for your parents and a knowing that you know you are blessed with this sustaining love and caring.

And Dear Travis, when I think of you and see your beautiful, wise, kind and loving face I think of the generations and wonderful lineage that came before you, and I imagine that they are looking down on the same face.

Have a very Happy 7 Month Birthday.   Hope its a good one.

Oh! Something else, your Grana loves you to the moon and back a trillion gillion times.

Spring Break, Part 2

One of the main reasons we went to Lubbock for Spring Break was for Cousin Kyler's 9th birthday!  Saturday was a busy day - we had Kyler's bday party and his basketball game.  Oh, and it snowed.  Yep, we woke on March 20th with a few inches of snow.  It got weirder when we learned that the Metroplex got snow too!

Kyler's Bday party - Travis wasn't quite ready for roller skates, but he sure enjoyed the disco ball AND all the attention!  Grandpa, Pop, Sassy, Lexi and Roxi were all on hand for pics!  He probably was loved on by at least that many more people, too!

We took a snack and nap break at Grandpa's house which was much closer than Lovey & Pop's, and then we were on to the basketball game.  These were 8-10 year olds on a YMCA league.  It was entertaining for sure!

This is Travis asking his Dad ... "Um, daddy, did I just see Kyler get a Technical foul?".  Awesome!!

Aunt Sonnet sings all the bestest and silliest songs!

But, Kyler is by far the most entertaining!
