A Man About Town!

What a busy week we've had!  I'm definitely getting more confident about lugging him out and about by myself.  Plus, I think he really enjoys seeing new things and getting some fresh air.  If he is my kid, he'll enjoy a bit of retail therapy now and then.

On Monday, we went to the beauty shop so I could get my hair cut.  I was about 16 weeks past due.  One of my good friends, Emily, came and went with us so that she could watch T while I was in the chair.  Travis had such a good time with Auntie Emmy, and we are both looking forward to Wyatt's arrival in a couple of weeks. 

We went to see a pediatric gastroenteroligist at Cook Children's on Wednesday.  For many weeks now, Travis has had some blood in his poopy diapers.  Not much, but enough that we were concerned.  This is what led us to discover his milk and soy protein allergies.  I have been soy and dairy free for 3 1/2 weeks now, and we are still seeing blood occasionally so we wanted to see a specialist to make sure it wasn't something else.  The doctor was not worried at all and just told us to keep doing what we were doing and to come back in 8 weeks.  Travis measured 25 inches long and weighed 15 lbs. 13 oz.  The doctor obviously said that he was not being affected in the growth department. 

On Thursday, we went to the Junior League meeting at 11:30 and then crashed in on the TK Christmas Luncheon.  Travis was such a good boy at the TK Christmas party and enjoyed being passed around from arms to arms.  You could tell that he knew these were special people to me!  We went to Hobby Lobby after that and then came home and both took a good nap in the rocking chair!!  We are looking forward to a relaxing Friday at home and then we have a busy, busy weekend!

Giggles with Grandpa

Travis giggled for the first time a few weeks ago (11/19).  Grandpa (my dad) got the giggle then, and this video shows that Travis still thinks Grandpa is pretty funny!

I'm Fifteen Weeks Old!

I am fifteen weeks old and have celebrated by whole-heartedly embracing "night wakings."  My poor parents!  Mommy is hoping it is just a little growth spurt or phase, but I've been hearing her throw out the phrase "cry it out" so sounds like she may be getting ready to get me in shape.  I am really getting into my playmat and love rolling on my side.  I went shopping with mom and my Auntie Amy on Saturday and was such a good boy (even surrounded by the t.u. and Nebraska fans).  This is my new favorite toy - it sort of puts me in a trance.  I am also really enjoying watching t.v. whenever mom lets me.  She has discovered that I will let her clip my nails if she gives me something really good to watch on the tube.  I really like Glee, Wendy Williams, and Sportscenter (go figure!).

T

T's First Snow

It's not much, but it counts!  We celebrated by updating our blog motif to a Christmas theme and sporting new Christmas pajamas.

He looks like a happy boy considering that we've gotten no sleep the past few nights.  Just when I thought he was ready to transition to one feeding a night, he has gotten super backwards and is now waking up about every 2-3 hours again.  I'm only feeding him twice and just trying to soothe him the other times.  Mommy is looking ROUGH!  Daddy has been a great help, too.  Not sure what the dealio is, but I hate to think that a little "crying it out" is in his future.  If you've got thoughts, I'd love to hear them.
